DentistDr. Hawthorne was raised in South River, Ontario and attended Almaguin Highlands Secondary School. There were no plans to attend University in the beginning; however, during his grade twelve year he had the good fortune of meeting a teacher who inspired him, and lit the fuse of what would become a life-long passion for learning. He went on to attend Laurentian University for his Bachelor of Science, and later the University of Western Ontario for his Doctor of Dental Surgery. After graduating in 1991, Dr. Hawthorne came to Creemore to work at Mad River Dental Center, and he eventually purchased the practice in 2003. During his many years practicing here, Dr. Hawthorne came to learn that he had, as yet undiscovered deep roots in Creemore. He learned that his Great Great Grandfather immigrated from Ireland to Creemore in the mid 1800’s and that he farmed the land that is now on top of the escarpment at the end of the Fifth Line. This revelation led him to learn that there are many locals who are distantly related to him, so in effect he had come home!
Dr. Hawthorne and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Veronica and Greggory. Dr. Hawthorne has many interests and hobbies which keep him busy when he is not at the office. Some of these include photography, golfing, hockey, reading, skiing, traveling and spending time with his family and two dogs Layla and Brandy.

DentistDr. Jordan McKee has been a patient at Mad River Dental Centre under Dr. Hawthorne’s care since she was 3 years old.
After graduating from Collingwood Collegiate Institute, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and carried on to Western University for her Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Her formal dental training was completed in 2015, but she takes part in regular continuing education, with her current area of fascination being in the fields of Biomimetic Dentistry, Pediatric Airway Dentistry & Myofunctional Therapy.
Dr. McKee loves working with patients of all ages, including children and infants. She thinks it is never too early to set little ones up for success on their oral health journey.
Dr. McKee spends her spare time with her husband and two young children. They can often be found hiking or cycling along the beautiful trails our area has to offer.
